BHOPAL Metro will start operating by September 2023, announced chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while laying the foundation stone for eight metro stations on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Chouhan said, “Now, we can call Bhopal as Metro City Bhopal just we called it as ‘Green Bhopal’, ‘Clean Bhopal’ and ‘Hi-tech Bhopal’. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the world-class Rani Kamlapati Railway Station here. Metro rail transport will start in Bhopal by September 2023, which will benefit lakhs of people. Madhya Pradesh has touched the dimensions of development without losing sight of the interest of the poor in schemes of the Centre and the state.”.
Moreover, the Prime Minister of India recently launched Rani Kamlapati Metro Station in Madhya Pradesh. The Metro rail, which will start from September 2023, will benefit lakhs of people of Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh has well-coordinated between the interest of the poor section of society and the dimensions of development. Chauhan remembered and appraised the late Babulal Gaur’s efforts to bring the Metro Rail Project to Bhopal. CM also performed the Bhoomi Poojan for all the eight metro rail projects, costing around Rs. 426.67 Crore. The eight metro stations are as follows: Subhash Nagar, Alkapuri, Rani Kamlapati, MP Nagar, DB City, Kendriya Vidyalaya, AIIMS, DRM Office.
Chauhan also asked for three appeals from the public present in the event. The first appeal is- everyone must play their part in being a responsible citizen by protecting the environment and planting at least one tree in a year. The occasion for planting can be one’s birthday, marriage anniversaries etc. He stated that the greenery and beauty of the state would increase with the planting of trees. No one should be involved in those activities which destroy the public property of the state.
